God’s Mission

The word “mission” may bring to mind individual Christians in foreign lands or church efforts, but the mission isn’t ours- it’s God’s Mission! God has been on this Mission for millennia to glorify Himself by rescuing His people, bringing them into relationship with Him and sharing His goodness. God’s mission expanded through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, who died on the cross for our sin and rose again from death to life on the 3rd day. After his ressurection, Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to continue His Great Mission to save people by preaching the Gospel. Christian believers and mission workers have advanced this mission by God’s grace, but there are still too many lost souls across the world. This Age will soon come to an end with the return of Jesus to harvest and judge the world for their sin.

We pray to be faithful mission ministry workers unto the glory of God. Harvest World Mission is managed and operated by Christian volunteers including retired pastors and missionaries. We have no overhead, paid staff, or employees so that 100% of mission ministry support donations can be investd to God’s Mission. We invite you to join us in praying for God’s Mission, would love to have you on our next Mission Trip, and may you provide cheerfully as the Holy Spirit leads.

Beloved Ministries

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it to me.’

Matthew 25:40 ESV

KOREA

MISSION

We are touched by ministries for the forgotten. The widow, the orphan, the stranger, escapee, or elderly. We are all God’s little children. May God bless the faithful workers that minister to these flocks.

Sungdang Church

Located in a farm village with a population of 80, Pastor Chun has a church and evangelistic ministry spanning 3 generations in this area. Since 2007, Pastor Chun has watched generations come and go with the average age of his congregation being 80-90 years old.

Pastor Chun is able to strike up a conversation with just about anyone and has become a pillar of the community known for visiting the elderly in nursing homes, town gatherings, and sharing the gospel with every meal or snack he shares.

COVID has caused the entire village to face financial difficulties, and our support helps this church and pastor continue serving the elderly weekly snack packs and hosting meal events.

Ministry To The Elderly

Pastor Chun noticed that many residents were illiterate in Hangul, so he started a senior college about 7 years ago. Many of the seniors from the college came to his church as a result.

Throughout the year, Sungdang church becomes both home and family for the village. For example, hosting a Thanksgiving feast or giving presents and gifts on Christmas. As a farming village, sharing a plentiful harvest has been a wonderful way to connect.

As we age, it’s easy to get set in our ways. Pastor Chun’s humble patience, willingness and commitment to preach the truth shines the light of the gospel with love, grace and kindness.

“I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh” -Ezekiel 36:26 ESV

JanGdaeHyun School

Jangdaehyun is the location in North Korea of the first Protestant Christian Church. Jangdaehyun School takes on the name with a vision of a United Korea. Many of the students have come from North Korea with hardened journies, separated families and limited vision for the future. Jangdaehyun teaches their students to think bigger and fight for a worthy cause.

We hope one day that the original church will be opened again and open to all. What we love about JDH is the strength and fortitude that the students find in God through the exemplary actions and role models found in faithful Christian workers. The gospel will be with them through all their future trials. May God grow the seeds of faith planted at JDH.

Philippines

MISSION

We love to support local leaders capable of training up other leaders. There are many villages in the mountains that can only be reached by motorbike or foot. The weather can often destroy and sink homes.

Pastor Uly

Pastor Uly has been preaching for many years and continues to organize young pastors for Sunday services and kids’ programs.

Working closely with the Calvary Chapel Bible College and their graduates, Pastor Uly continues outreach to nearby towns. The church has grown steadily with many home groups for those who could not attend.

Please pray for Pastor Uly’s health as God sustains him in bringing up the next generation of faithful ministers.

Pastor ELMER

Pastor Elmer oversees and manages a number of ministries and pastors in the Philippines. He teaches, trains, and deploys many faithful workers. The community knows him for his Christian Radio Broadcast which shines as a lighthouse.

Working in the greater Dumaguete and Zamboanguita areas, Pastor Rogins ministers with his family sharing the Word of God in and out of season. These cities are an hour away, and he rides his motorcycle with his son and wife to continue ministering in many villages.

Over the past 4 years, the Mascardos have been ministering in Siaton especially inviting Youth to Heart’s Night events, discipling and evangelizing for God’s kingdom. They endure arduous hikes to visit homes.

ORALITY

Pastor Elmer conducts trainings and seminars on Orality methods of storytelling preaching. The Philippines has an oral tradition which can create a literacy barrier to sharing the gospel. These trainings help to equip evangelists to effectively minister in oral cultures.

Many churches and small groups regularly teach through Orality, and church leaders, outreachers, and church planters all depend on this method in their local areas. Please pray that God would use these methods to deliver the plain truth of the Gospel in ways that all peoples can understand.

Uganda

MISSION

Students are the future.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart form it.” Proverbs 22:6 ESV

Dr. Shin

Dr. Shin has fully integrated into his local area living as his neighbors do and even adopting kids from Uganda. His heart for students is constantly expanding as he labors to advance the gospel through school systems. A former surgeon, he still applies his medical knowledge and all his resources- even driving 6 hours away to serve more students in other school districts.

Years of mission work has prepared Dr. Shin to be content in all situations, rich with God. May God bless his family that many would see his good works and praise our Father in Heaven.

Gospel of John

Partner schools encourage students and teachers to memorize the Gospel of John. From an early age, they start to receite and memorize the Gospel in Chapter One and as they get older, they advance through the entire Gospel writing passage after passage from memory.

Dr. Shin works hard to audit and encourage the students to engage with the task, visiting every quarter. During his extended visit he will stay up late grading submissions from the students as they progress through the Gospel.

How do you put something like this together to get young students hands-on with the Gospel and teachers excited about helping them? Easy, if they uphold their end, then their entire year’s school tuition will be paid. This gets teachers excited to create patterns like practicing as a class each day so that many students can continue their education while growing a deep foundation of Scripture on the Rock of Jesus Christ.

Please pray that the students will not depart from the Gospel they have received.
